A commercial and cultural theatre, a stage for the contemporary. Nordiska Kompaniet’s founder Josef Sachs had a clear vision of what his department store were to offer, and since 1915 it’s been a given destination for fashionable capital residents and tourists.
The building has its elegant history in the walls. Classic architecture with marble and brass, impressive headroom and exclusive details. Although that’s not a contradiction when it comes to the elements of now – NK has always been ahead of its time and therefore, digital signage was an obvious part of their renewing project.
We made a solution consisting of two channels: wayfinding and marketing. These are combined and shown in different installations, strategically placed through the department store. Elevators, escalators, entrances and aisles – over 70 screens were installed, to cover all the main strings and areas.
The screens are framed with brass and hanged, as an illusion, with a band of ecological, tanned leather from Sweden.
We designed templates in line with NK’s brand image. These are available in the easily-managed CMS, making it possible for their marketing team to quickly make updates and post new information or ads from the different departments and brands.
