Visual Art Powers the Digital in Reitan Convenience Sweden’s Initiative: Pressbyrån PBX

September 16, 2024

Pressbyrån PBX is Pressbyrån's spearhead store for finding more sustainable solutions and challenging what a kiosk can be in the future. With a brand-new store on Sveavägen in Stockholm, digital signage plays a central role in the store's function and structure. Visual Art delivers everything from digital signage software to content and design.

After three years with a store in Albano, Pressbyrån PBX has moved into the centre of Stockholm. With the new store at Sveavägen 67A, Pressbyrån PBX will further refine and test ideas for the convenience stores of the future. As before, the whole of Pressbyrån PBX is characterised by a far-reaching sustainability approach, and the new store has also reviewed the digital initiative.

– “Our brief was basically that everything possible should be on digital displays, but in consultation with RCS we actually cut down the number of screens from what was first planned to find a balance between function, utility and form for both staff and visitors to the store”, says Andreas Ström, Chief Revenue Officer, at Visual Art.

Pressbyrån PBX is intended to be a living concept that changes over time, which is also at the centre of Visual Art’s approach to digital signage. In the first phase, 13 digital screens were installed in the store, with digital displays that clearly communicate a message depending on where they are, all to simplify and improve the customer’s shopping experience.

– “It’s great to be involved in challenging the boundaries of the store of the future, where we really seek innovative solutions to facilitate and improve for both customers and staff”, says Andreas Ström, Chief Revenue Officer at Visual Art.

– “Pressbyrån PBX is a way to challenge and explore the future of convenience. X i PBX stands for innovation and the future, and together with our partners like Visual Art, we want to create a platform where we test and find new solutions. By rethinking established conventions, we can create a more innovative experience for our customers”, says Lennart Schultz, Marketing Manager at RCS.

Visual Art and RCS have worked together for over 10 years and today they supply screens, digital signage software, and content to Pressbyrån and 7-Eleven. Pressbyrån PBX plans to continue testing and developing new digital solutions to create the store of the future, and Visual Art looks forward to being a central part of this journey.
