August 7, 2024

Glenn Schackmuth, our Market Director for Visual Art North America provides a detailed overview of the current trends, growth, and exciting developments in the North American market. As digital signage continues to revolutionize how businesses engage with their customers, North America stands out with its dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape. From the increasing interest in Retail Media Networks to the strategic use of real-time data integration, Glenn sheds light on the key trends shaping the industry.

What’s the latest in North America regarding our business?

Glenn Schackmuth: Our business in North America is experiencing steady growth, primarily driven by existing customers who are expanding their signage applications and locations. Our responsiveness to customer needs and the reliability of our digital signage platform are frequently highlighted as key values by our current clients.

Additionally, new customer leads from business partners and trade shows have been increasing compared to 2023, with significant interest from large box and specialty retail applications.

What are the top trends within Digital Signage in North America?

Glenn Schackmuth: We’re seeing a surge of interest in several key areas:

  1. Retail Media Networks (RMNs): Existing customers and new leads are exploring RMNs for marketing products within their facilities and as an additional revenue source. Some customers are experienced with RMNs and seek a new provider, while others are newly interested due to media exposure.
  2. Data Integration: Real-time data driving content is becoming increasingly popular. Customers want to display dynamic information like weather updates and pricing, ensuring content remains relevant and engaging by day part. They aim to maximize the value and sales impact of their digital signage.
  3. Content Strategy and Scheduling: Effective content strategies involve scheduling content to match peak times and customer flow. This means displaying promotional content during high-traffic periods and using data-driven insights to determine the best times for different types of messages. Regularly updating content is crucial to maintain customer interest and drive sales.

What’s the latest around Visual Art in North America?

Glenn Schackmuth: We recently participated in the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) Show, a significant event for the dairy, deli, bakery, and related food industries. The show attracts around 10,000 attendees from grocery and convenience chains as well as food and equipment suppliers.

We had a booth at the event, focusing on industry interests and participated in a roundtable discussion on enhancing the customer experience through digital signage solutions. There was substantial interest in digital signage from grocery and convenience stores, as well as marketing groups and equipment suppliers for promotional purposes.

Are there any new clients?

Glenn Schackmuth: Unfortunately, there are no new clients we are allowed to communicate externally yet.

Are there any specific old or new clients, cases, or other highlights you want to mention?

Glenn Schackmuth: We’re currently collaborating with one of our hardware partners to explore opportunities for integrated turnkey solutions for retailers. These solutions include a combination of shelf-edge displays, headers, and custom-sized screens, often displaying synchronized content across all or targeted screens.

Our Digital Signage Software Signage Player is highly versatile, operating on various hardware platforms while enabling the grouping, synchronization, and management of many screens, centrally or at the store level, based on customer preference. We’ve had discussions and pilot testing with large retailers, cosmetic companies, and specialty retailers using this type of solution to capture customer attention and enhance engagement.
